Magni the Bison
Basically i'm having trouble with a certain norn mentioned in the title. I'm trying to beat him in his tournament with a paragon, but I just can't do it. I manage to interrupt his bear form, but even then he wipes me out with ease. How exactly do I beat him?

Hey there, just use this build and ur set^^ Usage is like this, place the spirits in the middle of the door, and walk into the arena, door closes, spirits stay in the door so they can attack. Use YMLAD and EVAS to snare and interrupt him, and let the spirits do the work. Painful bond just to increase spirit dommage Build is this:

Spirits are pretty easy. There's a few Paragon builds in there, too. |

The tried and true way is to run a secondary of Ritualist.
But I see several people answered while I was typing lol |

Hm im not sure if a paragon could do it the way i done but this is the easiest if you can run it.
Basically go /rt with aload of spirits + that elite signet that makes them do more damage and attack faster, or wonderlust. Beats him simple. EDIT: Ah seems ive been beaten to it, but yeah like they said, spiritway. |

I used mursaat summon, vanguard assassin, you move like a dwarf and then I just used incendiary arrows and sprints to dance around magni as i respawned the mursaat and assassin.
You first hit sprint and charge at magni and cast YmlaD so he cant cast Bear Form. |

I did it with my P/W using [Dragon Slash]+[brawling headbutt]+[you move like a dwarf]+[steelfang slash]. Not sure what the rest of my build was, it was a long time ago, but I kept him on the ground most of the time.

With a ranger, all i needed was
[Poison tip signet][Dodge][You move like a dwarf] You must keep him crippled, which you will do with YMLAD. When he is crippled, you must run back and forth up by your entrance, because when he is crippled, he won't chase you. Always keep him crippled, don't let him get near you, and always keep him conditioned, after he uses his purification signet. I only suggested those three skills because that were the only three i had available. And as a paragon, you must choose other skills instead of ranger skills.. Yeah working on it. I really feel like the game is broken when only a few builds work and the rest , well sux. Oh well, whining has never solved anything in mmo's. The devs are like a new gamer with a copy of Populous. They love making us run around on the wheel.

I always found this quite easy.
Take a pet, let the pet tank and destroy him from a distance. |

If you're trying to go full Ele (with some EotN skills), I use:
Windborne Speed You move like a Dwarf (norn shout) Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support (ebon vanguard skill) Shock Lightning Orb Whirlwind Air Attunement Elemental Attunement 12 Air Magic 10 Energy Storage For Magni, use attunements during countdown, then put on Windborne Speed right before you run toward Magni. Hit him with the norn shout ASAP to stop him from completing Bear Form and immediatly send out the assassin. Hit him with Lightning Orb for dmg and Shock to blind him while he attacks your assassin (if needed). When he comes after you, keep him KD (knocked down) and blind. As he's about to attack you, use whirlwind to knock him down, then Shock to blind him when he gets up. As soon as the norn shout is recharged, use it then run away b/c he'll be crippled... once you're away use Lightning Orb for dmg. As soon as Assassin is recharged, use it too for the distraction and the dmg. Keep him KD and blind, using Whirlwind when he attacks, Shock when you can't knock him down, and You move like a Dwarf whenever possible. Lightning Orb is your main source of dmg but the KDs do dmg too. |

If paragon has a skill that causes bleeding or poison, and a skill that makes you run fast, with decent recharge times, you will be able to kill him.
1) Poison\bleed him. 2) When he gets close, use your run skill and run back and forth by your entrance. Magni will give up the chase. 3) When magni uses his purification signet, reapply poison\bleeding. 4) Repeat from 1, voila. And oh, it helps to keep your head cool ^_^ |

I used geoffers bulwark (the round silver crappy shield) I only had +1 runes, major hp rune, and I believe I use some energy insigs. If you still can't beat it, post here what runes/weapons you rather use and I will test out some builds. I play an axe war, but the sword build cleaned up the tournament easily for me. Play defensivly and you will not lose. Unless your fighting a caster, then just spam savage slash. Good luck! PS: Oh, and if you are a hammer user, speed up normal attacks and Constant knock down will win the tournie also. (I guess I didnt save that build ) Last edited by HuntMaster Avatar; Jun 11, 2009 at 09:54 AM // 09:54.. |
